About Me
I am an artist based is Durban. My subject matter is seascapes. My works are inspired by Nature, its light, colours and textures. There is magic in the way light touches a surface and affects its surroundings. Recreating this on canvas is what inspires me to paint.
Inspired by Nature
My paintings are often of sunrises and sunsets over the ocean.My preferred medium of choice is acrylics. I enjoy layering paints and using mediums like Acrylic paste to create different textures which add interesting detail and dimension to a painting.
I don’t feel my paintings are complete without an atmospheric sky. It adds drama and mood and the light is intensified when its contrasted against dark skies. Art for me must be uplifting , so my focus in my paintings is always the light.
Seaside Stories
Craft is The New Luxury
My exploration of seascapes and its myriad of colours has inspired a range of unique handcrafted products which I call “Seaside Stories.”
Products include trinket boxes in a variety of sizes , photoframes, tissue boxes , crucifixes and jewellery dishes . These are beautifully embellished with seashells and painted in colours and textures of the sea. Individually created each piece is special and reflects handcrafted luxury. No two will be exactly alike…that’s the beauty of handmade.
